A lot of developers might not know about this new API and hence don't know they can opt-in if their apps target Android 9. The vast majority of apps and games aren't targeting Android 10 yet, so they'll have to explicitly opt-in to have their audio recorded. The third condition, however, is where the problem usually lies. The second condition is usually met unless the developer didn't bother setting an audio usage type. The first condition is almost always met because screen recorder apps wouldn't be able to function otherwise. The app/game must also allow its audio to be captured by non-system apps. On Android Pie, it must be manually set to true. On Android Q, this flag defaults to true.

The app/game from which you want to capture audio must have a certain flag set in their Manifest file. The audio that is being captured must be specified as media, game, or unknown. The screen recorder app must also be granted permission to record audio. The user has to give their consent to allow the screen recorder app to record audio and video on their device. The API is called AudioPlaybackCapture, and it allows apps like screen recorders record audio from other apps so long as a few conditions are met: Google added a new API in Android 10 that developers can use to capture audio playback from other apps. To explain why you can't capture the audio in all apps and games, I need to explain how this feature works. To enable audio recording, click Screen recording options at the top.Why isn't the app recording audio from all games? Here, you can customize the framerate of your video, set a delay for when recording starts, or a fixed duration for screen recordings.Click Task settings.in the side menu, then choose Screen recorder in the menu of the new window that shows up.You can also right-click the notification area icon and choose Open main window. Open ShareX from the Start menu or desktop icon.If you want to change settings like the frame rate of the video recording or if you want to record audio along with the video, you'll need to head into the app's settings. They save with randomly generated names, so you'll want to sort by date to make things easier to find.Ĭhange ShareX screen recording settings (and add audio recording) Videos are automatically saved in a dedicated ShareX folder in your Documents library by default. A pop-up will appear so you can view your recorded video in your default video player. You can finish a recording by clicking the red circle that shows up in your taskbar, or pressing your recording hotkey again. If you want to record the entire screen while an app is open, you'll also need to manually select the entire area. You can also draw a custom area to record a specific part of the screen. You can click any window to record that window, or if you're on your desktop, you can click the background to record the entire screen. ShareX will ask you to choose a recording area.

Simply accept the prompt and wait for it to install.
#SAMSUNG GAME SCREEN RECORDER SETTINGS INSTALL#
When you start recording for the first time, you may be prompted to download and install ffmpeg, which is the backend for video recording and encoding. You can press the hotkey for screen recording ( Shift + Print Screen by default) to start recording at any time.

You might get a warning because some of the default hotkeys for the app overlap with system shortcuts.
